The Best Free Things to Do in Los Angeles

  • Visit the J. Paul Getty Museum! With an amazing assortment of paintings, drawings, and other types of art from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the Getty Museum should surely not be missed in our cheap car rentals. You can admire the beautiful architecture of the building which sits atop the Santa Monica Mountains and see fabulous views of Los Angeles. Located at 1200 Getty Center Drive, just off the San Diego Freeway, you can visit the Getty Museum from Tuesday through Sunday for free!

Try exploring the African-American Firefighter Museum, the California Museum of Science and Industry, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (free every second Tuesday of each month), the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust, the Museum of Contemporary Art at the Geffen Contemporary (free admission on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.), the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (free the first Tuesday of every month), the Page Museum at the La Brea Tar Pits (free the first Tuesday of each month), and the Wells Fargo History Museum.
  • Los Angeles also welcomes you to explore many gorgeous scenic gardens throughout the city including the Mildred E. Mathias Botanical Gardens, the UCLA Hannah Carter Japanese Garden (free but reservations are required), the Franklin D.
